Planting design

The plants form an integral part of your new garden and bring the design to life.

The planting design is as important as the garden design. It should reflect the style of the garden and also take account of your preferences. You may like a particular colour scheme, maybe to tie in with interior decor. You may want scented planting near a seating area, or low allergy planting. You may want wildlife friendly planting, designed to attract birds and butterflies to the garden. You may want interest all year around or planting which just needs low maintenance.

The planting design will take account of all these factors, as well as using plants which suit the soil and aspect of your garden.

Whether you are a novice gardener or an experienced plant person, Green Garden Design can offer a planting design service to suit you.

Planting plan

This is ideal if you want to know exactly what plant goes where or if you want to plant the garden yourself over a period of time. A detailed plan is produced for you to follow, showing the position of each plant and listing all the plants required. We can provide a quote for a planting plan when the final design is agreed.

Lime and Chocolate Planting Scheme

Planting concept

If you don't know much about plants, this may be the service for you. A general planting concept is discussed, taking into account your likes and dislikes, favourite colours and so on. A budget for the plants is agreed. Plants are then personally selected from a range of approved suppliers and delivered to your garden. They are then placed in their planting position, ready to plant. You can then either plant them yourself, or we can do this for you.

This service includes 2 seasonal visits to carry out the initial formative pruning of the plants.

Nursery visit

If you are an experienced gardener, you may like to design the planting for the garden yourself. We will then will the take you on a half day or full day visit to local wholesale nurseries, where you can select your plants and benefit from trade prices. There is a half day or whole day fee for these visits.
